E-Rickshaw Management

E-Rickshaw Management likely refers to the management of electric rickshaws, also known as e-rickshaws. These small, three-wheeled electric vehicles are a popular form of transportation in India, due to their affordability and eco-friendliness.

E-Rickshaw Management can encompass several aspects, including:
  • Regulation: Establishing rules and guidelines for e-rickshaw operation, such as designated routes, safety standards, and driver licensing.
  • Fleet management: Maintaining a fleet of e-rickshaws, including insurance, fitness and tax (if any).
  • Route optimization: Designing efficient routes for e-rickshaws to take.
  • Passenger Experience: Creating a system for booking rides, ensuring passenger safety, and managing fares.

Requirement of E-Rickshaw Management

E-Rickshaw - Aspects of the problem

  • Uncontrolled numbers: There are more e-rickshaws operating in the city than necessary, which puts unnecessary pressure on the traffic system.
The biggest reason for this is that a person coming from other cities or around Jaipur can easily get e-rickshaw on rent in Jaipur.
  • Irregularities: E-rickshaw drivers coming from other cities or around Jaipur do not have the necessary documents and licenses.
When rented e-rickshaws are easily available, there is an increased likelihood of them violating traffic rules. Since they are rented e-rickshaws, they do not fear any action being taken against them.

This can lead to several problems, such as:

  • Traffic jams: When people do not follow the rules, it can cause congestion and jams on the roads.
  • Accidents: Reckless driving increases the risk of accidents, which can injure people or even take their lives.
  • Crime: Without documentation, it can be difficult to identify drivers, which can lead to an increase in crime.

E-Rickshaw - Solution

  • Controlling the number of E-Rickshaws: The administration should adopt a process of issuing QR stickers/plates and ID cards for e-rickshaws, which will help in limiting the number of e-rickshaws operating in the city.
  • Solution for rented rickshaws: QR stickers/plates and ID cards should be issued to only those rickshaw drivers who have their own e-rickshaw, Aadhaar proof of Jaipur address, and driving license of Jaipur address, which will reduce the number of rented e-rickshaws.
  • Checking of documents: The administration should introduce the facility of checking the QR card of e-rickshaw drivers through a mobile app.
  • Details of QR card: Each e-rickshaw driver will be issued a QR card.
The QR card will contain the driver's photo, driving license photo, Aadhaar photo, and RTO information.
Police personnel will be given a mobile app to scan the QR card and verify the driver's information.
  • Saving time:Checking documents using a mobile app will save time for police personnel.
  • Increased efficiency:This will make the document verification process more efficient and effective.
